Overview:
The Office of Information Technology's Radio Operations is seeking an Information System Support Specialist II to work Primarily in the Installation Facility. Join us in maintaining our high standards in our daily vehicle UPFIT operation. The Radio Services Team supports several State of Maine Agencies with Two-Way radio communications as well as Designs, specification of emergency equipment and builds of the State's Public Safety Vehicles. You will work with a dynamic team of highly talented staff providing support for all daily operations. Work may involve frequent communications with multiple agencies and the ability to collaborate in a team environment is critical to this role.
ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS:
Information System Support Specialist II is responsible for Advanced Technical Services in daily radio operations and vehicle UpFit . Work is performed under limited supervision.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
You will have an opportunity to participate in all phases of support, design, specification and build of several State of Maine Public Safety Vehicles. You will be exposed to several different platforms, facing different challenges every day. This position is in Augusta.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will be a member of a team providing support for several State of Maine agencies, including Department of Public Safety, Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Department of Marine Resources, Department of Conservation, Corrections, and Department of Transportation to mention a few. You will be conducting analysis and working collaboratively in resolving issues within these Agencies, facilitating projects, and more.
Preference will be given to individuals with experience designing and building Public Safety Vehicles and the support of LMR Trunked Network systems. Experience with the State Agency vehicles that we work with, experience with two-way communications systems and test equipment will also be considered.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSA minimum of 3 years of a combination of related post-secondary education, technical certifications, or technology related work experience. Related training, internship experience etc. may be credited as related experience on a month-per-month basis.Benefits of working for the State of Maine:
