Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a Girls and Boys Tennis Head Coach. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organization skills, a history of successful coaching experiences, and a commitment to total program development. Additionally, the candidate will coach tennis in support of the mission of Archbishop Hoban High School and incorporate our core values into the program.We are a private Catholic School located in the heart of east Akron and rooted in the Holy Cross tradition. Our Holy Cross values are essential to our identity and philosophy of educating the hearts as well as the minds of students, celebrating our diversity, valuing each person, and welcoming one another with the hospitality of Christ.Position Responsibilities:Responsible for the development and vision of the program.Maintain standards of team behavior and regard for team rules and expectations.Promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, and respect.Solid knowledge of player development specific to high school tennis players.Commitment to the program and hold all students and adults associated with the program to the same standards.Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes.Coordinate the development and promotion of the tennis program.Supervise practices and assist with both individual and team development.Maintain tennis equipment.Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.Position Qualifications:Active Ohio Pupil Activity Permit or the ability to acquire one.Successful completion of online coaching training modules.Supervise competition and practice during after-school hours as well as on weekends.Proven record of supporting and motivating others.Proven leadership.Complete appropriate criminal records check and have attended or willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training are required for this position.Please complete our non-teaching application at
