Ferguson is searching for an experienced

Marketing Specialist

to support customer marketing and sales enablement programs for our non-residential customer audiences. This position will be highly cross-functional and work closely with corporate departments, field sales and business leadership across the company to leverage marketing resources to reach target audiences, identify opportunities for customer and sales growth, and develop strategies to help the business succeed.

The Marketing Specialist will focus on our non-residential business and handle a wide range of marketing tactics from advertising to direct mail to promotions to digital media, placing our customers’ needs at the forefront of our marketing initiatives.

Location:

This is a hybrid role based out of our Corporate offices in Newport News, VA or Chico, CA, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. Remote work may be considered across the United States.

Responsibilities:

Planning and Research

Research and monitor target audiences, competitors, and the industry, and support the business's objectives and company’s financial goals.

Develop a deep understanding of the value our services and solutions provide, the sectors our customers operate in and the buying cycles for the Waterworks and Fire business.

Understand marketing goals and how strategies can attract customers, drive expansion, encourage dedication, and improve brand visibility.

Support the Marketing Manager in planning and developing marketing programs across different channels and new markets in the U.S.

Understand the business’s performance, objectives and roadmap to align marketing programs to product, capabilities, solutions, supplier and customer strategy.

Campaign and Project Management

Work directly with marketing and sales teams to activation with industry associations, trade shows, and sponsorships.

Responsible for the marketing calendar outlining business marketing programs and campaigns – advertising, content, trade shows, etc. and handling deliverables from start to finish to ensure campaigns meet their deadlines and goals.

Work with internal design, media, and production teams to develop marketing materials and promotions including print/sales collateral, social media, digital signage, email, promotion/merchandising and direct mail for sales associates and customer engagement.

Tailor national marketing programs for successful local application at scale.

Handle internal communication with sales teams to ensure awareness of customer marketing initiatives and available assets.

Collaborate with operations and sales teams to identify new sales enablement tools, training materials and in-store collateral (signage, POP, etc.).

Brand Marketing

Promote the enterprise value proposition and expand brand recognition and awareness of Ferguson with identified target audiences and markets.

Maintain corporate identity, brand and design standards, and policies while crafting marketing programs that optimally describe and promote the business, services, and products.

Documentation and Reporting

Collaborate with Marketing Insights & Analytics team to provide marketing program performance reports with recommendations for growth and optimization.

Draft original and maintain library of program and marketing documentation (performance reports, SOPs, literature, etc.) across all assigned work and marketing operations.

Assist in preparation of marketing team and business meetings, including quarterly supplier meetings, monthly marketing presentations and annual performance reviews.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing (or related) or have equivalent channel marketing work experience.

5 years’ experience in marketing ideally in B2B or trade industry, or 5+ years of industry-related experience in Waterworks and/or Fire Safety.

Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Excellent teammate with a proactive demeanor and the ability to work both in group settings and independently.

Self-starter, highly organized and thrive working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects with excellent attention to detail and timely delivery.

Pay Range:

$4,124.70 - $6,783.70

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles

OR

Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.

Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
