The Story House team is dedicated to delivering impactful experiences for our clients. Our work takes many forms, including local marketing, large scale event productions, digital engagements, and event-based technologies. Our team is looking for a Market Manager who will serve as a local market leader in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Market Manager will partner with local businesses, artists and key opinion leaders to develop market insights and create a credible presence for our client’s consumer brand. Our Market Manager will collaborate with our client service and strategy teams, as well as our clients, to drive success through a deeper understanding of the dynamics and nuances of the Fort Lauderdale market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO //
Through your own existing experience and The Story House provided research, develop an understanding around the city of Fort Lauderdale’s nightlife and social scene. Identify foot traffic trends and gather the best people and places to introduce our client’s product in the City of Fort Lauderdale. This may include bars/nightclubs, outdoor meeting places and special events.
Leverage existing research provided by our strategy team and the insights you gain through on-the-ground research (including direct conversations with people in the Fort Lauderdale market) to inform recommendations.
Build and maintain relationships with business owners, bar managers, event producers, local artists, and key stakeholders in the nightlife industry.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing bar/nightclub strategies to promote our client’s brand/product on-premise through interactive live engagement experiences.
Collaborate with the client service and production teams to ensure successful promotion and execution of events.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify best opportunities for growth.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed.
Attend events to capture appropriate and compliant content and to engage with patrons.
Oversee the local market staff/brand ambassadors hired by The Story House.
Collaborate with key clients in the market.
Champion The Story House within the Fort Lauderdale community, spotting opportunities to develop and maximize the agency’s go-to-market plans in Fort Lauderdale.
YOUR EXPERIENCE //
Must have at least 5 years of experience in nightlife marketing, including working with adult (21+) bars, clubs and restaurants.
Must have at least 3 years of experience working and living in the immediate Fort Lauderdale Area.
Must have experience recruiting, hiring and training field staff and Brand Ambassadors
Experience and comfort level working within a restricted category such as alcoholic beverages, pharmaceutical medicine or nicotine/tobacco products.
Strong experience building and developing relationships with bar owners, managers, bartenders and staff.
Experience working with local artists and craftsperson’s is a plus.
You prefer to meet with people live, in-person within a community vs. working in an office environment.
Able to combine detail-oriented thinking with an ability to see the possibilities and potential of a physical space.
Experienced communicator and collaborator, working with multiple stakeholders and people with various backgrounds and life experiences to gain points of relatability and trust.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK//
Your Fort Lauderdale work environment will be dynamic and may include collaborative local shared workspaces, on premise meetings in bars, nightclubs, special events and occasionally at a local warehouse to pick-up point of sale materials and event set elements. You will need a reliable car to travel across the city of Fort Lauderdale on a regular basis. Frequent nights and weekend work will be required of this position.
