Position Purpose:

This position ensures background operational activities run smoothly and efficiently for all credit union branches; including managing the technology resources and support facilities, including mainframe computer system, local, wide, wireless, Internet, and Intranet networks, telephone and Voice Over IP (VoIP) systems, and all related software programs. Ensures the information technology activities are secure and stable, used to help maximize profits commensurate with the best interest of members, customers and employees. Develops and implements information technology architecture strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs. This position also defines information system procedures and best practices, including directing information security, building security/administration, systems and networking management, disaster recovery, records management, facilities, telephone system and various equipment and contract management.

Essential Functions:

Manage, coach, and counsel staff to maximize staff performance, including setting and meeting department goals, identifying measurements, and handling personnel issues.

Assists managers with assessing department measurements, reporting procedures, and performs timely analysis of results. If needed, recommend solutions to areas that require improvements.

Meets on a regular basis with the President/CEO and coordinates the direction and planning necessary for the successful operation of the Member Support Division.

Assists the President/CEO in developing short and long range plans, strategic plans, and credit union measurements. Also, develops improvements in processes, procedures, and policies, as needed.

Prepares departmental budget.

Stays abreast of current federal and state laws and regulations affecting applicable departments and ensures that adequate procedures are in place to minimize losses.

As part of the Senior Management Team, attend Board meetings and provides reports, status updates, etc.

Interacts with appropriate legal sources to ensure operation compliance with all state and federal laws and/or regulatory governances.

Participates in local activities, other financial organizations, peer groups, and community leaders.

Directs the activities of information technology, implementation and system development. Identifies areas where efficiency and effectiveness can be improved through the use of technological strategies.

Performs other work as needed.

Performance Standards:

Core system is efficient and effective with minimum downtime.

Departments are run in an efficient manner with minimum disruption in member service.

Specific goals and objectives for the department as well as the division are met in a consistent and timely manner.

Maintain focus on the operations as they relate to the credit union’s strategic plan.

Timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports as well as staff.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

College degree in business administration, finance, or information technology.

Certifications:

Cisco Certified Network Associate, GIAC.

Required Knowledge:

Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and have a working knowledge of all information system programs.

Experience Required:

Eight to ten years information systems experience.

Five years financial industry or credit union management experience.

Five years supervisory or management experience.

Two years public speaking or group presentation experience.

Skills/Abilities:

Requires the development, preparation, and monitoring of budgets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills.

Able to motivate and train management team to ensure their departments meet their goals.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry-out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving variables.

Mathematics Ability:

Able to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using a calculator.

Language Ability:

Able to write complex sentences using normal word order with present and past tenses, as well as a command of the English vocabulary.

Working Conditions:

Air-conditioned, smoke-free office setting. Must be able to travel to meeting sites.

Business Hours:

Monday through Saturday. Business hours are subject to change. Must be able to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
