Position Overview:
Adriana's Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Controller
to join our dynamic team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic guidance on financial matters, and will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.Prepare timely and accurate financial statementsConduct monthly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and improve business performance.Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Evaluate and implement financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.Goal setting, and innovating the departmentImplementing department budgets & negotiating contractsRequirementsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong leadership, negotiation and team management abilities.Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of accounting softwares including NetSuite and SAGEBenefits
