As a Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the supply chain process within the organization.

Your primary objective will be to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.Your strategic vision and leadership will drive the development and implementation of innovative supply chain strategies to achieve cost reduction, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive overall business growth.

Job Summary:

Optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations, ensuring seamless coordination between procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.

Create and lead a strategic vision to drive the development and implementation of innovative supply chain strategies.

Plan, manage, organize, coordinate, and control all elements of purchasing and subcontracts to optimize performance.

Manage and maintain positive vendor relations with all suppliers.

Supply Chain Strategy• Develop and execute the organization’s supply chain strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.• Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in the supply chain process.• Set goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics to measure the success of the supply chain operations.Procurement and Supplier Management• Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.• Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize sourcing strategies and manage supplier performance.• Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes.• Manage, perform, and/or approve Cost and Price Analyses.• Perform and negotiate contract clauses as per FAR Part 52.Logistics and Transportation Management:• Oversee transportation operations for timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.• Monitor transportation costs and implement strategies to improve efficiency.• Coordinate with stakeholders to optimize warehousing and distribution processes.Inventory Management:• Develop inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.• Implement demand forecasting and inventory planning techniques.• Utilize data analysis and forecasting tools to identify trends and optimize inventory replenishment cycles.Team Leadership and Development:• Lead a diverse supply chain team across multiple locations.• Mentor and develop team members, identifying training needs and providing growth opportunities.Performance Analysis and Continuous Improvement:• Establish a system for tracking and analyzing key supply chain metrics.• Identify areas for improvement and drive process enhancements.Worker Characteristics

KnowledgeAdministration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content, including the meaning and spelling of words.Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, and government regulations.Customer Service — Knowledge of principles for providing customer services.Transportation — Knowledge of principles for moving goods by various means.Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.Education Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferable.Experience Requirement:A minimum of ten years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or related field with at least five years’ experience in a defense industry manufacturing environment.
