Job Summary and Qualifications

You will ensure high quality, patient-centered care by coordinating the hospital-wide Infection Control Program, which includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of nosocomial infections, education of staff, and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet regulatory requirements.

You will make decisions relative to the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections and blood-borne pathogens in collaboration with the Infection Prevention (IP) Committee.

You will develop and maintain policies and procedures that support successful quality/patient safety outcomes and ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients, identification of areas of opportunity, and coordination and execution of regulatory compliance programs in accordance with federal, state, and local agencies.

You will perform process evaluation and qualitative/quantitative analysis for department-specific and organization-wide infection prevention and control improvement opportunities and determine the needed systems/processes/behavioral changes necessary to support infection prevention activities.

You will maintain current knowledge of and adherence to hospital, federal, state, and local regulations, and OSHA and Joint Commission requirements pertaining to infection control and serve as a resource on infection prevention and control issues for staff, committees, patients, students, and the local community.

What qualifications you will need:

Bachelors Degree in health-related field required.

Masters Degree in health-related field preferred.

5+ years experience in a clinical setting required.

2+ years experience in a leadership role required.

5+ years experience in Infection Control required.

Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse or licensed professional in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation required.

Certification in Infection Control required.
