Standardized Patients report directly to the Director of the Regional Center for Clinical Simulation. The major responsibility of this position is to portray all the characteristics of a real patient, simulating the signs and symptoms. Standardized patients will be physically examined by students and faculty as part of the student learning experience and complete some sort of feedback on the student performance following each encounter.

1. Must be highly dependable and punctual 2. Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments especially during the training period, considered first 3-5 months of labs worked 3. Precisely follow written and verbal instruction 4. Provide constructive feedback to medical students and colleagues 5. Assist in the training process of other standardized patients when called upon 6. Work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers 7. Be comfortable having repeat non-invasive physical examination maneuvers performed on self for long periods of time 8. Be willing to wear a hospital gown with only undergarments underneath, while on camera and/or observed live through an observation window or video monitor 9. Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem/chief complaint, affect/behavior, and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, reliable manner, and consistent manner 10. Accurately and consistently complete checklists, daily cleaning logs of rooms, and training assignments 11. Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators/supervisors and incorporate into case simulation 12. Be willing to be audio and videotaped during simulations 13. Must know how to follow the proper chain of command for the department if/when issues arise 14. Must have good decision-making skills when immediate supervision is not immediately available 15. Stable internet/cellular data/phone connection to attend meeting in regard to upcoming labs and virtual labs 16. Accountability 17. Other duties as assigned

: High School Diploma or equivalent is required Experience
: Medical knowledge and acting skills are preferred but not required Skills & Abilities
