This position is designed to provide both inpatient and outpatient care, along with call responsibilities, for a well-supported team of medical professionals in a community hospital setting. Facility Setting : Both inpatient and outpatient coverage, with call responsibilitiesRole Highlights:Patient Volume :
4-6 patients per shift in the hospitalUp to 15 patients per shift in the clinic
Call Requirements :
Call response time: 30 minutesBeeper call, with 4-6 patient visits during call periods100% callback rate with 4 admissions expected per call period
Practice Setting : Clinic and call coverage on weekdays, weekend call coverage only, with midwife support on weekdaysResponsibilities:Delivery and Surgical Requirements :
50 deliveries, including 12 cesareans, within the last 12 months25 gynecological surgeries, with at least 5 major abdominal or vaginal surgeriesCompetency in handling low and high-risk pregnancies, cesareans, VBAC, breech, and multiple birthsProficiency in routine and complex OB/GYN procedures, such as amniocentesis, low-forceps delivery, and cesarean decision-makingExperience with gynecological surgeries, including cystectomies, ovary removals, ectopic pregnancy management, and laparoscopic minor procedures
Requirements:Board Certification : Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and GynecologyCertifications : ACLS required; intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferredLicensure : Must hold or be eligible for an active North Carolina licenseExperience : Minimum recent procedural requirements as listed aboveEMR Systems : Familiarity with McKesson and Athena is a plusSupport Structure:Staffing : Includes RNs, CMAs, and midwives to assist during shiftsHospital Beds : 15-bed OB/GYN unit with full support for inpatient needsCall Support : Midwife assistance for weekday calls; physician-only weekend call coverageAdditional Details:Credentialing : Estimated 90-day process, with temporary privileges available for candidates with clean malpractice historyTravel and Lodging : Covered travel expenses, with nearby accommodations in Dillsboro, NCThis position offers an ideal blend of inpatient and outpatient work with a supportive team in a scenic area of North Carolina.
