Job purpose
Reporting to the Aftermarket Director of Sales, Marketing & Training, the Aftermarket Retail Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the sales and marketing strategies for the company's aftermarket product lines. This individual will spearhead the development of retail strategies, manage a team of sales professionals, and establish strong relationships with retail partners. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry, an exceptional ability to drive sales growth, and a proven track record of leadership in the automotive aftermarket retail channel.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify key growth opportunities and develop targeted initiatives to expand the company's market share, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitability.Conduct market research to stay abreast of automotive trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging technologies, adapting the sales strategy as necessary.Lead and mentor a team of retail sales managers and a business insight/category management professional, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results and customer satisfaction.Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team, regularly tracking performance and providing coaching and feedback to ensure consistent achievement of goals.Recruit, train, and retain top talent to build a highly skilled, motivated, and customer-centric sales team.Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer leaders.Work closely with retail partners to ensure proper inventory levels, effective product placement, and promotional strategies that maximize sales potential.Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with retail partners to ensure profitability while remaining competitive in the marketplace.Manage a dedicated retail business insight resource to utilize sales data and analytics tools to monitor performance, forecast sales, and identify trends that can inform strategic decisions.Collaborate with the product and marketing communications teams to create effective promotional campaigns, product launches, and advertising strategies to grow sales.Ensure seamless communication between the sales team, operations, and logistics to optimize product availability and delivery timelines.Maintain an expert-level understanding of the company's automotive aftermarket product offerings, staying informed about new product developments and innovations.Provide insights and recommendations for new products and services based on customer feedback, market trends, and competitor analysis.Develop and manage the retail sales department's budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve sales objectives.Monitor financial performance, including sales margins, pricing strategies, and expense control, to ensure profitability and meet business targets.Collaborate with senior leadership on company-wide initiatives and provide insights into retail trends, customer behavior, and sales performance.What we're looking for
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 8+ years in retail sales management within the automotive aftermarket industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with retail customers.Proficiency in using sales analytics tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Proven track record of driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and enhancing customer satisfaction.Results-oriented with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.Strong business acumen and financial management skills.A strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to market changes and drive innovation.Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.Passion for the automotive industry and the aftermarket sector.What we offer
