Job Title : Johnsburg High School Principal Reports to:

Summary:

The responsibility of the Principal of Johnsburg High School, a building of approximately 500 students, will be to oversee the continued improvement of instruction and staff development as it aligns with the mission of Johnsburg School District 12, which is to create a safe and challenging learning environment which develops character and inspires students to become productive lifelong learners.

Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Education Professional Educator License with an Illinois approved administrative endorsement Professional Educator License registered with McHenry County R.O.E. Previous administrative experience required Possession of credentials to evaluate certified staff Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance Current physical Essential Responsibilities:

Evaluate the school's academic program regularly to ensure our course offerings are relevant, innovative, and lead to increased post-secondary opportunities for students. Collaborate with the district Curriculum Director to ensure the district adopted curriculum is being implemented with fidelity, staff are utilizing Common Core or other high impact educational standards and promoting instructional practices that meet the diverse needs of our students. Uses data to track student progress, evaluate program effectiveness, and make informed decisions. Ensure students are provided MTSS and pursue appropriate interventions to facilitate learning for all. Oversee the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports in the classroom and throughout the school setting. Collaborate with the Superintendent and other district Administrators to establish a robust school improvement plan that is aligned to district initiatives inclusive of SMART goals, key performance indicators, and clearly articulated action steps for improvement. Collaborate with the district Assistant Superintendent to develop annual school budgets aligned to the school improvement plan and regularly manage those budgets. Create and maintain a positive and achievement oriented learning environment where students have the greatest opportunity to learn, and staff can achieve their highest professional growth. Collaborate with families and community members to gather interests and assess needs while utilizing district and community resources. Establish systems of accountability for staff and self. Oversee the maintenance of records in accordance with district, regional, state and federal regulations. Supervise and evaluate all assigned building staff. Carry out those supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Johnsburg School District 12 policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws. Actively participates in administrative/faculty/Board of Education meetings, open houses, school related activities, educational conferences, training workshops and other events instrumental to building a strong leadership presence. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with staff, students, parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school.
