MGB-17202- Occupational Therapist - Boston, MA - 13 Weeks ContractSigma Healthcare Team is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who will work onsite for our client's location in Boston, MA.Shift : 08:30 - 17:30Summary:
Provide Occupational Therapy and related services for patients while maintaining positive levels of interaction with facilities and clients in accordance with the principles and practices of occupational therapy.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Develop plan of care that is patient and family focused and instituting standardized interventions for goal oriented outcomesDaily documentation in computerized system accurately reflects objectivity and measurabilityApplication of standard treatment procedures; Teaching is provided to patients and caregiversInterdisciplinary communication occurs regularlyClinical evaluations are completed that reflects patient history, relevant systems review and appropriate tests and measures .Plan of treatment is reassessed at least every 2 weeks to patient, primary caregivers and interdisciplinary team; plan is modified and communicated as appropriate to meet discharge goals.Physician orders are current and consistent with plan of care and documented in the medical record.Patient schedules are submitted on a daily basis.Home Health aides will be oriented to the patient and supervised in accordance with agency and state guidelines.OTAs are utilized to optimize capacity and ensure compliance with visit schedulesPatient caseloads of Occupational Therapy Assistants will be managed in accordance with agency, state and professional guidelines.Documentation is complete and submitted timely according to agency standards.POC devices are updated as directedVerification of Payor information on admission is verified in computer system and attended according to agency standards.Documentation to support Managed Care authorizations/DME requirements is maintained and transmitted within designated time frames.Visit schedule is consistent with authorizations by Managed Care payors.Realistic, objective, time oriented goals for patient performance are identified based on examination findings.Utilization/Caseload is discussed with Manager as needed and changes are made toward stated goals.Reportable outcomes meet Agency goals.Treatment and discharge plans are selected based on examination findings and patient goals.Staff meetings and education inservice is attended on a regular basis. Clinical competencies and mandatory training is requiredPatient is informed of his/her weekly schedule and any other changes to their schedule as necessary.
Experience / Knowledge
:
Two years experience in acute care, rehab or homecare as an Occupational Therapist.Ability to work with various computer software required and knowledge of hand-held patient care computer devices preferredStrong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populationsExcellent verbal, written and electronic communications skillsAbility to prioritize work and adapt to changing situationsCollaborate with patient, family, physician and other allied health professionals to identify patient needs and coordinate services to meet those needs. Manage technical, environmental and financial resources.Certificates And Licenses:
Valid certification from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)Registered with the Board of Registration in MassachusettsLicensed as an occupational therapist by the state Board of Occupational Therapy.
