The Production Control Specialist (Supply Chain Specialist) is responsible for the production planning and production status management activities at our client's facility.
Responsibilities
Ordering and transportation of parts to be purchased from Japan
Ordering and transportation of parts to be purchased from North America
Production planning
Execution of the production planning and final product inventory activities
Execution of parts and materials arrangement planning and parts inventory plans
Execution of procurement-campus delivery logistic planning
Promoting new project preparation activities
Creating strategies that effectively utilize lean business resources and achieve company objectives
Communicating and presenting strategies to leaders inside and outside the company
Developing and maintaining good project management plans
Reporting progress in a timely manner and determining next steps action plans
Developing individual gap analysis to help HR create development plans
Essential Skills
3 years or more experience in production planning/management, sales, or procurement
Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment (specifically larger, more complex automotive)
Experience in a cross-cultural working environment
Experience in Japanese companies
Experience in an international/foreign global company
Familiarity with automotive standards/tools (ISO/IATF, Control Plan, and APQP)
Familiarity with problem-solving, waste/loss prevention methods, and setup time improvement
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as directed
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree desirable
Good level of knowledge in lean production concepts such as OEE, KANBAN, FIFO, BOM
Experienced in operation time study
Must be capable of flexibly responding to any changes in the company’s direction
Effective oral and written communications skills
Able to travel to other locations for extended business and training (up to 1 month)
Work Environment
Work environment is a very large, nice warehouse facility with office space. This person will move between the two spaces.
