The role is for an experienced senior individual contributor to drive initiative success by developing product health metrics, running A/B tests to enhance features, building monitoring tools for Hardgoods product health, and creating custom analytics for insights to improve features.With a passion for driving transformative changes to the customer experience and in delivering business outcomes, we mine the largest datasets in the world of e-Commerce and use analytics and data science techniques to extract impactful insights. We achieve this by partnering closely with the product, business and engineering teams, and find opportunities that are accretive to the product roadmaps.The successful candidate will find him/herself surrounded by sharp professionals with a diverse set of backgrounds, operating in a fast-paced, intellectual, and team-oriented environment. This highly impactful role offers the unique opportunity to develop/showcase hybrid skills and partner with leaders across the organization.What you will accomplish:Join a high-performing team of data scientists to drive product excellence for the Hardgoods category and thrive in a cross-functional environment while working with different analytics/business/product collaborators.Build close partnership with product managers, business owners and engineering team across the Hardgoods category organization to Identify and explore opportunities for impactful analytics to help craft the product roadmap.Improve and build technical skills to turn big data in Teradata and Hadoop into actionable insights and ability to think about the big picture and connect the dots to evaluate how the insights impact eBay’s ecosystem.Collaborate with product managers to create metrics for initiatives, run A/B tests to improve features, and build tools to monitor the health of Hardgoods product features.To be successful in this role you would:Have 6+ years of experience and the minimum of a bachelor’s or higher degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration or Business Analytics.Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity. Strike a balance between critical thinking and hands-on analytics and data science  (SQL, R, Python, Tableau etc.)Functional leadership skills and a product/business analyst while having a data science mentality to problem solving at scale.Enthusiastically and optimally communicate with partners across the organization and regions.Experience in designing and measuring randomized control experimentsFinally, but crucially: A passion for eBay, either existing or nascent. We are an outstanding company and are looking for people who get excited by our captivating marketplace & amazing business opportunities.The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$135,200 - $205,700Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
