Position: Shipping AssociateShift: 1st shistLocation: Fort Worth, TX
RESPONSIBILITIES:Audit small parcel and LTL orders for accuracy and correct errors as they are discoveredPack customer orders effectively to provide safe handling by carriersPack customer orders, both physically and systematically, to ensure carton level detailShips small parcel & LTL orders using appropriate shipping software (Softeon or Recon Logistics)Prints appropriate shipping documentation for packages and affixes to outgoing cartonsAssists in loading outgoing shipments by hand or by forkliftWorks closely with the customer service team to resolve order related issuesPicks customer orders as needed by accurately obtaining merchandise from bins or shelvesOperates any material handling equipment safely and efficiently as requiredHelps maintain area cleanliness, safety, security, and organization of the distribution centerAssists in managing and distributing customer orders to appropriate order pullersPerform all other tasks as required when assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to work independently and stay on task to complete given assignmentsStrong attention to detailStrong math skills and analytical skillsAbility to work with handheld scanners and/or computer equipmentAbility to remain focused on your task throughout the entire workdayAbility to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructionsWilling to work overtime when necessaryMust be able to lift 45lbs repeatedlyMust be able to work standing/walking for the majority of the workdayMust be able to visually distinguish detail, color, and other characteristics of material and objectsFinger/wrist dexterity to work effectively on computer keyboard or grabbing/packaging productMust be able to get along well with a variety of different peopleAbility to work a variety of jobESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to communicate professionally via telephone and electronically at various organizational levelsMust be able to hear/understand/speak with team members at all levels within a diverse workforceMust be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, stand for extended periods of timeMust be comfortable working with or around material handling equipment
