Position Title: Machine Build- 1st Shift SUMMARY OF POSITION: The individual selected for this role will rebuild, repair and install complete machine tools and component assemblies.Support manufacturing operations as requested. 1 Tear down and assemble machine tools and major subassemblies, i.e., heads, fixtures, spindles, slides, part handling, hydraulic and mechanical units. 2. Perform "schedule B" functions to determine rebuild requirements. 3. Specify components and assemblies required to rebuild equipment. 4. Troubleshoot problems and recommend process/design solutions. 5. Set, tram and align heads, fixtures and tooling. 6. Operate a broad range of tool room equipment to recondition and modify components. 7. Lend technical assistance to other departments as required. 8. In plant installation and service. 9. Accurately report process time via Realtrac system. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. 11. Attend meetings for new launches and projects 12. Assist in delegation as well as job analysis 13. Address any safety issues plant wide.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Journeyman's machine tool builder or equivalent experience (minimum of eight years' experience), preferably in a rebuild capacity. License forklift operator. Basic knowledge of hydraulic, electric and pneumatic control systems. Ability to read component and assembly prints.
