Investment Funds Associate AttorneyJob Overview:A prestigious law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly experienced Investment Funds Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will bring over four years of expertise in the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, with specific experience in supporting closed-end funds such as tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies (BDCs). Strong academic performance, exceptional writing skills, and effective interpersonal communication are crucial for success in this role. Experience with open-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is beneficial.Duties:Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers ActOffer expertise and guidance in the formation and operation of closed-end funds (including tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies)Assist in the development, registration, and regulatory compliance of investment vehiclesDraft, review, and negotiate legal documents and contracts related to investment fundsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, marketing, and business developmentConduct legal research and analysis on regulatory updates impacting investment fundsLiaise with regulators and clients to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsRequirements:Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers ActExpertise in supporting closed-end funds (e.g., tender offer funds, interval funds, business development companies)Familiarity with open-end funds and/or ETFs is an advantageStrong legal writing and drafting skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Washington, DC preferred)Skills:Advanced knowledge of investment fund structures and regulationsExceptional legal writing and analytical skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clientsHigh level of attention to detail and organizational skillsJob Location:Washington, DC
