POSITION DUTIES:
Assist passengers boarding and disembarking vehicles.
Secure all passengers in vehicles using seat belts and/or wheelchair securing equipment.
Responsible for monitoring all passengers during transit, in order to identify problems which may develop such as seizures, behavioral problems, and/or seat belting concerns, incontinence problems, and report same to driver immediately.
Intervene in situations where client behaviors create a hazardous or unhealthy situation to themselves, other clients, and/or driver, such as: head banging, eating foreign objects, undressing, scratching or hitting others. Follow up in writing as required by company policy.
To be aware of all safety plans of evacuation on all types of equipment.
To become totally familiar with your assigned run so as to assist any new driver that may be assigned.
To assist drivers while maneuvering their vehicles, when extra caution is necessary, for example when backing up the school bus.
Attend staff meetings and training modules as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1 year experience working, or desire to work with multiply disabled individuals
