Our corporate support team is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team! This position will office in Downtown Minneapolis (parking provided) and support our diverse real estate portfolio. The Property Accountant is responsible for a portfolio of residential and mixed-use commercial properties monthly accounting and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP. Candidates with demonstrated industry experience in property accounting and within complex, multi-entity organizations are strongly urged to apply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Preparation of monthly financial statements including HUD, MHFA and other regulated propertiesAbility to work with a large portfolio of properties with various levels of complex accountingResponsible for month-end closing procedures including, but not limited to: Bank reconciliations, monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger analysis, MHFA/HUD monthly reporting requirementsReview accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completenessPreparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages to external partiesAssist with preparation of annual property budgetsPreparation of semi-annual replacement reserve draw package and surplus cash calculationsPreparation of year-end property audit work papersVarious ad-hoc projects as necessaryExperience and SkillsMinimum Requirements
BA/BS in Accounting / Business with an emphasis in Accounting or a related field required.1-3 year's residential property accounting experience including MHFA/HUDBank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Month-End Close experienceAbility to meet deadlines in a fast paced environmentQuick learner with a high attention to detailAble to multi-task while setting priority, work independently and in a team settingUnderstands and applies accounting process and practices with attention to detailStrong Microsoft Office Suite skills required, with emphasis in ExcelReal Page accounting software preferredJob BenefitsBenefits
