We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team as we continue to grow. The responsibilities include completing journal entries, maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with accounts payable as well as close processes. This person will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our firm's financial outlook bright with precision and proactive measures. The location will be a combination of working a hybrid schedule from our Chicago office.
Primary Responsibilities:Perform general ledger account reconciliations to verify accuracy of data, and research and resolve any discrepancies, specifically cash reconciliationsSupport timely monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and accrualsSupport the accounts payable function by:
Processing and coding invoices ensuring accurate and timely paymentWork closely with internal departments and external vendors to resolve any payment issues or discrepancies
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataPrepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trendsOther duties and special projects as neededRequired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance1 to 3 years of accounting experienceAbility to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficientlyCritical attention to detail and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite, Excel requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or in pursue ofKnowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.)Prior experience working in financial services or professional servicesExperience with Sage IntacctExperience with SAP Concur Accounts PayableCompany Overview:
