Job Description - Senior Developer

The Senior Developer is responsible for making application changes to provide the required IT services functionality. This includes the development and maintenance of custom applications as well as the customization of products from software vendors.Essential Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with developers on other teams, internal and external, onshore, and offshore.Estimate work requests at various levels of confidence.Assist with technical analysis of solution design and prototype.Ensure code library is kept up to date in accordance with AXA standards and/or best practices.Support resolution of defects during application testing phases.May serve as a member of a Major Incident Team.Implement and document change in accordance with an approved SDLC process and development standards including Development estimation.Conduct unit testing to ensure changes are of sufficient quality before system testing.Provide product support, including technical oversight of problem determination, resolution, and root cause analysis as L3 support.Support analysis and resolution of defects during application testing phases.Proactively identify and communicate improvement opportunities.Lead a team of Salesforce developers, providing solutions, technical mentoring, code review, and coaching.Ensure system enhancements follow appropriate IT guidelines, meet or exceed user requirements, and are completed in a timely fashion.Proactively recommend architecture and implementation of new functionality based on industry best practices and system design.Provide detailed design of Salesforce-related projects from inception through production support, including UML diagrams and design documentation.Ensure that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business unit and implement proper testing and performance monitoring.The Sr. Developer will report to the Release Train Engineer.Required Skills and Abilities
Strong development experience with a focus on Financial Services Cloud, Lightning Web Components (LWC) framework, Apex, and Visualforce development.Experience in Salesforce Service Cloud Omni studio and end-to-end implementation and integration within the financial services domain.Expertise in Salesforce configuration, customization, user interface, page layouts, tabs, custom fields, custom objects, and custom settings within the context of financial services.Extensive experience in creating LWCs, Apex classes, workflows, approval processes, validation rules, and sharing rules.Hands-on experience with REST integrations and environment management, release management, source control, Continuous development, and Continuous Integration tools.Thorough understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.Hands-on experience with JIRA, Agile methodology, source code management.Ability to work constructively in a team environment as well as resiliently.Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Knowledge / Experience with Test Driven Development is a plus.Exposure to cloud technology (ideally Microsoft Azure) is desirable.Experience with Agile, SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps processes.Passionate about learning and working on new technologies.Experience working in a geographically distributed project team preferred.Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented, technically motivated, and creative.Broad understanding of application development and support technologies.Good verbal, written, and presentation skills.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.Location
