Position Summary
The Catering Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Catering Manager with overall catering activity, support and directing day-of catering operations. The Catering Supervisor will actively supervise, coach, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment. The Catering Supervisor enforces all Oak View Group personnel and operating policies and procedures. This role will pay an hourly wage of: $14.00 to $16.00.For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024About the VenueThe Bank of Oklahoma Center, also known as the BOK Center, is located downtown and serves as the premier sports and entertainment venue of the greater Tulsa region. Offering a19,199-seat multi-purpose arena and 565,000 total square footage designed to accommodate concerts, family shows and other special events and has been named on multiple occasions one of the country's best venues.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and General Manager in the overall effective management of Catering Operations.
Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies monitors alcohol services throughout event to assure 100% compliance with alcohol service policies.
Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to Oak View Group Management immediately.
Responsible for inventory control in the Catering Department under the direction of the Catering Manager.
Assist in the management of the catered events from the set-up to teardown, including handling all communication with the hourly staff and culinary staff.
Responsible for guest interactions, role modeling professional and calm under pressure behaviors to the catering staff.
Ensures staff is briefed on event requirements and assigned to specific areas prior to events under the direction of the Catering Manager.
Enforces all Oak View Group policies and procedures as they relate to guest satisfaction, quality standards, uniform policy, cash handling, operation procedures, and quality presentation.
Conducts a walk-through of the catering area after completions of the event to ensure all areas are clean and secure.
Assists in opening, closing events.
QualificationsAbility to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, and business contacts in a courteous, professional and productive manner.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing, environment. Must work well under pressure of deadlines.
Ability to interact with a diverse spectrum of individuals calmly, professionally, supportively.
Valid Food Safety & Alcohol Service Permit if required by state and/or county of venue.
Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
Cash handling abilities; basic math skills including significant number manipulation.
Ability and willingness to work a variable work schedule and extended hours (including holidays, evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
Consistent and reliable attention to detail, accuracy and validity with the ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to delegate tasks efficiently and develop staff to next level.
Ability to adhere to highest standards of ethics, integrity, professionalism, and discretion. Ability to execute solid management decisions quickly and efficiently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent, plus 1-2 years food management or supervisory experience. Catering Management experience a plus.
Physical Demands:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects (files, boxes, product, trays).
