IDIS Americas Company is headquartered in Coppell, TX, designs, develops, manufactures, and distributes a full range of products for the video surveillance and machine vision markets.

Summary:

As a Wireless Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of wireless networks nationwide, with occasional travel into Canada. The role requires extensive travel (approximately 80%), a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the ability to lift 30lbs.

Key Qualifications:

Travel Requirements:

The candidate must be willing to travel nationwide with occasional trips to Canada. Travel will constitute approximately 80% of the work schedule.

Remote Work:

This position allows for remote work, with a preference for candidates residing close to a major airport for easy accessibility.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and laptop computer usage is essential. The candidate should have 2-3 years of field experience and hold relevant network certifications.

Networking Expertise:

Demonstrated knowledge of mobile routers and their Cloud Management software is required. The candidate should be adept at configuring Access Points, Bridges, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN tunnels.

Hardware and Software:

Experience with hardware and server software, including the installation of MS server software, is necessary.

Cellular Networks:

Familiarity with major cellular networks such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile is preferred.

Antenna Technology:

Experience with GPS, Wi-Fi, and Cellular antenna technology is highly desirable.

Wi-Fi Site Survey and Design:

Proficient in conducting Wi-Fi site surveys and providing network design recommendations. The ability to create network diagrams is essential.

Government Networks:

Experience working with state and local government networks is a plus.

Independent Work:

The candidate should be capable of working independently, including night shifts, without direct supervision.

Customer Interaction:

This role involves customer-facing responsibilities, requiring a professional appearance and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

2-3 years of field experience in wireless networking.

Relevant network certifications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and laptop computer usage.

Ability to travel nationwide (80% of the time) with occasional trips to Canada.

Willingness and ability to obtain a passport for occasional trips outside the US.

Capability to work independently, including night shifts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Professional appearance when interacting with customers.

Knowledge of mobile routers, Cloud Management software, and configuration of network devices.

Familiarity with hardware, server software, and major cellular networks.

Experience with GPS, Wi-Fi, and Cellular antenna technology.

Experience with AWS and Wasabi.

Expertise in conducting Wi-Fi site surveys and providing network design recommendations.
