Position Summary
A Grant Accountant at WellSpace Health oversees the administration of all grant-related activities playing a pivotal role in the financial management of grants and funding received by the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This position collaborates with various departments to ensure proper utilization of grant funds and adherence to grant requirements by carefully monitoring expenses and budget allocations, maintaining accurate financial records, and generating financial reports for internal and external parties.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.2+ years Accounting (required) and Grant experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is required), accounting software, and financial management tools.Strong problem solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.Must be punctual, a quicker learner, and flexible to thrive in a team setting or independently.Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet standards of High Reliability.Essential Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with grant regulations and reporting standards by meticulously monitoring and reviewing grant budgets, accurately capturing and coding expenditure reimbursements.Prepare accurate and timely monthly invoices and financial reports to grantors, including budget vs. actual analysis, expenditure and cost reports, or any other relevant support documentations as required or requested for reporting purposes.Maintain and reconcile monthly grant billing schedules, including deferred revenue and revenue recognition, accounts receivable agings, and general ledger account reconciliations.Collaborate with accounting colleagues, program managers and grant coordinators to assist in the budget forecasting of new and renewal grant fundings, and to address and resolve discrepancies or compliance related issues.Maintain a comprehensive record of all grant awards and organize files systematically to adhere to appropriate retention periods.Participate in preparing for grant audits, providing necessary documentation and support as required.Address any compliance issues identified during audits and implement corrective actions as needed.Assist Accounting Manager with other departmental tasks as assigned.Benefits

The work environment is characteristic of an office environment. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client's use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care. The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals.
