This role involves leading network engineering projects, analyzing customer network environments, and providing technical expertise to enhance network performance and reliability.Primary Responsibilities:Network Design and Implementation:
Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot customer network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN communication systems.Technical Collaboration:
Work directly with technical teams to gather and assess technical requirements for network solutions, ensuring optimized and scalable designs.Environmental Assessment and Recommendations:
Evaluate existing network configurations, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations to enhance efficiency, security, and performance.Technical Leadership:
Provide guidance and oversight for network engineering projects and offer support to junior Network Engineers as needed.Documentation and Maintenance:
Create, review, and maintain technical documentation to ensure accurate records and support project continuity.Enterprise-Class Network Configuration:
Deploy and manage enterprise network products, including Cisco and Fortinet, to support advanced network environments.Layer 2 / Layer 3 Connectivity Expertise:
Demonstrate expert knowledge in L2/L3 fabric connectivity, network architecture, and protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VDC, vPC and VXLAN.Topology Management:
Design and manage LAN/WAN topologies, including MPLS and point-to-point connections, focusing on optimizing routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, and BGP.Cloud Networking:
Configure and maintain cloud-based networks within AWS and Azure environments.Network Assessments:
Conduct comprehensive network assessments and provide clear documentation and presentations of findings and recommendations.Automation and Scripting:
Utilize tools like Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef to streamline network operations.Qualifications:Minimum of 8 years of network engineering experience, with proven expertise in enterprise network environments.Cisco and/or Fortinet certifications, including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) 4+.Strong proficiency in network engineering and implementation, with excellent communication skills for documentation and client interaction.Skills and Competencies:Experience with Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto products, including firewalls and SD-WAN.Expertise in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS) and Layer 2/3 architectureFamiliarity with cloud networking solutions (AWS/Azure)Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)This role requires a strategic mindset and strong technical skills to manage complex networks and guide technical staff in achieving reliable, high-performance network solutions.
