POSITION:
Network Engineer – Senior
LOCATION : Fairfield, CA
SCOPE: Serves as a Network Engineer on a major IT services contract for the U.S. Army
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs advanced network administration including installation, configuration, patching, and monitoring of routers, switches, VLANs, VPNs, WAN interfaces and circuits, and network security devices/software including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and content filtering systems.
Performs optimization, troubleshooting, and monitoring of the network, including load balancers, failover, and network interfaces to externally-managed Army WAN infrastructure.
Conducts scans for wireless devices and access points on the network; identifies and isolates unauthorized wireless access.
Resolves intermediate and advanced issues associated with network configuration, routing, load/traffic management, and QoS, and conducts troubleshooting and problem identification.
Configures and supports VoIP and VTC services; optimizes service performance based on traffic types and policies.
Manages network security including 24×7 real-time monitoring; performs network analysis for threats; applies NIST RMF security controls and DoD STIGs; maintains network security baselines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience and/or specialized training/certifications may be substituted for education.
Education or certification must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).
Experience using and writing operating system commands and scripts, and using scripting languages including Tcl and Shell scripts.
Experience with performance and routing optimization, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Cisco and F5 network platforms, building and maintaining high-availability/resiliency and scalable networks.
Experience using SIEM and data analysis tools such as SolarWinds and Splunk.
Familiarity with DoD cross-domain and COMSEC key management solutions is a plus.
CCNP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DoD Directive 8570.1 IAT II)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active DoDSecret Clearance
SALARY (Based on level of experience and expertise):
$110K – $135K
