This position works closely with the Controller and other key accounting team members to assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including the preparation of periodic budgets/forecasts, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and the period-end closing process.This position requires a fundamental understanding of general accounting operations (GAAP), previous experience with accounting systems/platforms (preferably Elite 3E), and extensive experience with internal and external financial reporting.ResponsibilitiesPreparation of monthly journal entries, AR collections, monthly AP processingAnalyze and explain variances - actuals to budget and week-over-week forecastsEnsure that revenue and expenses are recorded correctly, in the correct period and properly accruedCreate and maintain various Excel spreadsheets for revenue and deficiency tracking as neededPrepare and assist with annual budgeting process and analysisReview monthly accounting / billing system changes, including new contracts, amendments, credits, and billingMaintain and prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX requirementsSupport Controller &Accounting Manager with month-end closing process including various accrualsOther accounting and finance duties and reporting as requested, including assisting with internal and external audits and providing additional reports to management as required
Required Education and SkillsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration3+ years of progressively responsible professional experienceExperience in similar industry preferredStrong Microsoft Excel skillsPreference will be given to candidates with a CPA or CPA candidate
