AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.AWS Data Processing and Experience group provides rapidly growing, industry acclaimed cloud services in areas of big data platforms to data analytics to operational databases. The group is at the forefront of innovation in these areas producing world-class cloud services such as Glue, EMR, Athena and many more.Job Summary:
Data Processing is one of the fastest growing areas in the industry offering a fully managed, serverless data preparation service. We make it simple and cost-effective to organize and categorize your data, and run analytics on it using different execution engines.We are building a scalable, industry first, low-latency analytics platform to power the future of all Analytics. This team will also be responsible for growing and building out the platform to run large scale analytics.We are looking for a software development manager to lead the serverless analytics platform that powers the large scale execution of jobs, SQL and sessions. You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving. Clear communication and prioritization will be important as you partner with Product Management to plan and deliver experiences for customers. - 5+ years of engineering team management experience- 7+ years of engineering experience- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Bachelor's degree- Strong verbal and written communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
