Solutions Architect, Arlington, VA - up to $175kMultibillion dollar government contractor is seeking an immediate Solutions Architect to support a Department of Homeland Security customer located in Arlington, VA. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities:This position will be filled by a highly accomplished Solutions Architect with over 10 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and system solutions in a wide variety of environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive functional knowledge of Federal, federated data center and Cloud (AWS and Azure) migrations of production workloads, demonstrate an understanding of Federal Cloud policies, governance and policy, and development standards and their application to reduce operational expenses while interfacing with executive-level/Front Office leadership to implement cost avoidance and optimization strategies. The Solutions Architect will provide architect-level technical guidance and direction in the evaluation of emerging requirements and their alignment to appropriate technical solutions within the enterprise. The Solutions Architect will be critical to the evaluation, design, and delivery of multiple applications and creation and realization of long-term capability roadmaps to support responsive delivery of COTS/GOTS and custom applications for DHS HQ and component organizations.
The Sr. Solutions Architect shall:Provide solution consulting for DHS-HQ client and create and maintain a solution roadmap for future enhancements.Engage in project communications with DHS client using a consultative approach.Ability to plan and organize work and interact with technical and non-technical personnel.Gather stakeholder requirements and transform the information into a logical process flow.Provide direction with technical and business stakeholder requirements and overall project plan as it relates to the solution.Design, implement and maintain technologies within a DHS-HQ shared services environment.Responsible for overall solution integrity of large and complex solutions, providing direction to other Solution Architects on technology and design choices.Translating user requirements into actionable architectural frameworks (hardware, software, cloud) for use in development, preproduction and production enclaves and environments.Provide architect-level guidance and briefings to DHS executives, product owners, Program Managers, and the technical team(s) on a daily basis.Analyze engineering solutions, isolate sources of problems, recommend reconfiguration and implementation of new solutions to increase performance, security, and successfully mitigate technical challenges.Assist in the creation/review/implementation of technical standards, SOPs and cost avoidance/optimization strategies (white papers, presentation decks, etc.).Drive application and system assessments, planning execution and management.
Required Skills:Ability to obtain DHS Suitability/Public Trust.FEAC certified Architects.Extensive knowledge in the DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF).Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Sciences or equivalent degree preferred.10+ years of related technical experience.3+ years Cloud and Data Center experience in a Federal enterprise network environment.Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment and DevOps experience highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in building/guiding LCCEs or cost models for functional groups (including hardware, software, transition, technical and ongoing operational support).
Preferred Skills:Army business Mission Area (BMA) architecture experience.2+ years Storage experience.2+ years Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) experience.1+ years Networking experience (SDN, Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships across senior level client leadership.Prior experience with DHS Enterprise architecture standards and governance.Certifications Preferred: Cloud Vendor Certifications, CCIE, TOGAF, CCNP, ITIL3, VCP, PMP.
