Position SummaryThe Catering Supervisor will be in charge of all aspects of any and all catering events. They will be in charge of set up, service and take down of all events. This may include delivery to multiple buildings on campus as well. This will include the execution and supervising of employees to set tables, set up buffet lines and beverage stations. Then at the end breaking down buffet lines, clearing tables and putting all equipment away and leaving areas clean.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $25.00.

About the VenueHere at Green River College we run and operate the kitchen that serves the cafeteria and handles all catering on campus. We have many small daily caterings from coffee drops to lunches for on campus groups. We also do many caterings for outside groups from auctions to weddings. They range in numbers from 25 to 400 people. Most of the larger events occur on the weekends but may happen during the weeks.

Responsibilities

Assists in the overall effective supervising of Catering operations.

Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies. Monitors alcohol service throughout event to assure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies.

Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately.

Provides on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff. Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service.

Assists in troubleshooting technical problems with Point of Sale Systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.

Assist in the on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly employees, as directed by department managers.

Supervisoring of all catered events from set-up to tear down, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary staff and guests.

Qualifications

Catering experience helpful.

Working knowledge of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.

Cash handling abilities; basic math skills including significant number manipulation.

Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Washington Food Handlers card and MAST permit required.
