A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Civil Trial Attorney to join its San Diego, CA team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial trial experience and be comfortable managing all aspects of litigation, from motion practice to trial appearances.Duties:Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents to support litigation strategies.Take and defend depositions, and manage the discovery process.Participate in mediations, Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs), and settlement negotiations to resolve disputes efficiently.Serve as the first chair in state and federal bench and jury trials, administrative hearings, and binding arbitrations.Represent clients effectively in court, ensuring strong legal advocacy and a focus on favorable outcomes.Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients throughout the litigation process.Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to develop case strategies and legal solutions.Manage cases from initiation through resolution, including the preparation of trial materials and case management.Requirements:Extensive experience in civil litigation, including trial experience in state and federal courts.Strong skills in pleadings, motion writing, depositions, and conducting hearings.Experience handling cases in employment law, real estate, or small business litigation is a plus.Ability to serve as the first chair in trials, hearings, and arbitrations.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.Demonstrated ability to think critically and develop strategic legal solutions.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the State Bar of California is required.Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on litigation and trial preparation.Proficient in legal research, case management, and legal document drafting.Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.401(k) plan with firm contributions.Generous vacation and paid time off accrual.Continuing Legal Education (CLE) reimbursement and payment of Bar dues.Collaborative and supportive work environment with a focus on professional growth.
