Job DescriptionThe Sustainability Compliance Counsel will lead Thermo Fisher Scientific’s legal initiatives to improve compliance, awareness, and adherence to governing

sustainability-related

laws and regulations. This position reports to the Senior Director, Corporate and Securities Counsel and will work in conjunction with the Company's Legal, Operations, Finance, CSR, and Communications teams to guide and implement the Company’s sustainability programs. This individual is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, developing cross-functional processes and reporting mechanisms to meet established goals, and successfully implementing new initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a unified view of global

sustainability-related

legal compliance requirements to ensure flawless adherence to regulationsTake ownership of centralized program management function to deliver on required

sustainability-related

disclosure workstreams, and ensure governance oversight as appropriateTrack, assess, and communicate new and emerging global legislation, regulations, and guidance on environmental, sustainability, and safety issuesReview regulatory and industry trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies and program modificationsPartner with business and Corporate EHS, GBS, finance, legal, and CSR teams on voluntary and mandatory ESG reportingPartner with subject matter experts to ensure internal controls and procedures for external reportingServe as legal subject matter expert for

sustainability-related

matters, including leading due diligence for potential M&A targetsLead annual double materiality assessment process and partner with finance for external assuranceCoordinate with corporate accounts and commercial legal teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of customer contract provisions related to ESG due diligence and reportingAssist in developing, updating, and implementing a comprehensive training program on complex

sustainability-related

matters and divisional/affiliate policies and proceduresLead the external reporting of program results in line with local regulationsPrepare and give updates on progress to company leadership, group leadership, and executive governance teams.Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree requiredJuris Doctorate required5+ years’ experience with demonstrable experience with
