The IT Learning and Development Specialist works as a part of the Information Technology Team to support software implementations, new functionality roll outs and participate in new employee and provider training. Primary responsibility is to execute training plans for EPIC and any other clinical/ancillary application needed, support go live processes and support help desk as needed. Ensures that end-users have the required tools, knowledge, and skills to perform their jobs and provide the highest quality patient care. Prepares and presents training plans, materials, and conducts classes on patient-care systems and selected enterprise-wide applications. Excellence in customer service and superior teamwork skills are essential. Serves to assist in developing the tools the providers and staff need to give the highest quality health care to the patients while ensuring security and efficiency.
Your Everyday
GENERAL DUTIES
Demonstrates ability to represent Information Technology in a respectful and professional manner. Promotes and advances a learning culture within the organization, including credentialing in multiple EPIC applications and other systems integrated with EPIC as warranted. Demonstrates creativity and a passion to continuously learn. Is receptive to differing ideas and embraces change.
Works with the Training Manager to determine training needs for staff and providers including introducing new functionality, as well as remedial and refresher training. Prepare all training tools to include classroom prep, access/security requests, and documentation. Maintains all records as instructed in the LMS. Performs duties with attention to detail and time management, especially tasks with specific, assigned deadlines. Assists with coordination of new hire, contract/agency, transfers, provider, student, visiting resident, research coordinators, and vendor EPIC training.
Reviews and tests changes in lesson plans, workflows, and within the training environment. Alerts senior staff members, especially Instructional Design Analysts of any issues. Communicates recommendations, needs, and concerns in an appropriate fashion with coworkers and management.
Executes the training program for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other clinical applications across the LCMC system. Maintains and updates training documentation as required. Incorporates a variety of instructional methods including but not limited to lecture, audio/visual, workbook formats, virtual, demonstrations, and computer-guided training.
Works one on one with providers, clinicians, and other customers as requested to improve efficiency of using the EMR. Provides specialized training to end users when outside of the normal scheduled training and off hours as required. Supports optimization efforts of staff and departments; supports user departments during go live and post go live.
Actively triages and troubleshoots end user issues via the Help Desk Ticket system. Reassigns and escalates non-training reported issues to appropriate teams.

Minimum:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Combination of appropriate education and work experience is required:
1 year of experience with a Bachelor's Degree
3 years of experience with an Associate's Degree
5 years of experience with a High School Diploma
Relevant experience in relevant health care, teaching, or training/adult learning field, especially training EPIC.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to effectively present information in a clear manner, demonstrate procedures and respond to questions.
Relevant computer skills.
Working knowledge of electronic medical records.
Ability to understand technology as it relates to hospitals/clinics.
Ability to build strong working relationships internal and external to the organization.
Capable of creating and administering very detailed instructions.
Creative and forward thinker.
Preferred: Working knowledge of electronic medical records, especially with credentials in EPIC training.
