ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn and become knowledgeable of Covr's commission grids.Pull reports and verify commissions paid for each clientReconcile actual commissions received to expected commissions.Obtain and maintain commission schedulesAssist Senior Commissions Analyst in setting up and revising special arrangementsFollow up on debit balances and review with Senior Commissions AnalystPrepare and send out commission payments to agentsContact carriers and be able to communicate and resolve discrepancies in expected vs. actual commissions.Calculate and prepare batch commission statements for payment to external parties.Answer commission related questions for Covr employeesRespond to client requests for information regarding commissions paidCreates financial models bases on analyses to support organizational decision making.Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of dataPerforms other related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plusExperience in insurance industry a plus2+ years as an accountant, auditor, or commissions analyst OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and Skills:
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables & VLOOKUP)Commissions experience is requiredExperience with commission processing systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong math skillsStrong attention to detail and organizationUnderstanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) a plusUnderstanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards a plusBENEFITS PACKAGE:We offer a competitive benefits package:
