Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 8am - 3pm Must be available to work a flexible schedule during peak sales periods.

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 11 with a minimum hourly rate of $17.37 and a mid-point of $23.16. Offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this position performs work of routine difficulty by coordinating all textbook and general book activities within the bookstore. This includes calculating open-to-buy figures, working with wholesalers and publishers, placing orders, managing receiving and returns through the point of sale system, and maintaining inventory of all books. Additionally, the employee administers the bookstore website, troubleshoots point of sale software, and orders trade books. General Supervision is provided by assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Associate degree or equivalent work experience.One year of retail experience including cash handling. Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written skills required. Must be able to work as a team player.Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong customer service skills.Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

3-5 years' experience working in a college bookstore

Essential Duties:

Process book adoptions and orders, including analyzing enrollment, estimating quantities, and verifying faculty requests.Order, receive, and display trade books, study guides, author signing books, and holiday books.Shelf books and position shelf tags on the sales floor.Resolve issues with publishers regarding shipments, bills, and damaged books; follow up on late orders and out-of-print books.Coordinate receiving of textbooks and trade books through the point of sale system; manage hardware setup during peak periods.Maintain textbook inventory and process returns, ensuring alignment with enrollment figures and vendor policies; perform periodic inventory checks.Oversee buyback operations, including cash handling, inventory reconciliation, and packing textbooks; manage shipping/receiving of computers and supplies.Assist customers with textbook selection and other store areas as needed.Coordinate bookstore website operations and respond to student emails.
