BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, build and provide remedial programs and instructional activities for and to students with speech and language disorders.
Must hold a California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services - Language, Speech and Hearing Credential or Speech-Language Pathology Services - Language, Speech and Hearing Credential.. Current Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid License

QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess knowledge of recent educational and remediation trends related to the speech and language handicapped.Demonstrates knowledge and use of statewide testing procedures.Demonstrates awareness of professional performance in due process matters and litigious environments.ABILITY TO:Must have the demonstrated ability to work effectively with professional and paraprofessional personnel in carrying out an effective instructional program for speech language pupils.Manages time efficiently.Must have available private transportation.EXPERIENCE:Must have successfully completed a practicum in speech and language, or one year of full-time successful experience as a remedial speech specialist. Applicants who have demonstrated knowledge and experience with programs designed to improve educational opportunities for minority pupil will be given preference.LICENSE:Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.Possession of a valid California driver's license.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:Appropriate placement on the Salary Schedule dependent upon experience and education completed beyond Bachelor's degree. 208-day work year, salary range Fully Credentialed: $102,635- $140,950 Annually.The District offers a comprehensive package of insurance benefits to employees and their families which includes major medical, dental, and vision care insurance. Full-time employees will become members of the State Teacher's Retirement System upon employment.
