The ideal Residential Accounting Manager will have proven industry experience, and the ability to manage a portfolio of properties with varying reporting needs. As a strong communicator with analytical ability, you will make it your mission to further improve upon our accounting operations. You will manage the production of thorough financial reporting for our clients to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth in the real estate market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management and ownership of the portfolio of properties assigned (on average of 10-15 properties in a portfolio).Ensures all assigned financial reports are prepared in a timely and material accurate manner.Work with onsite property management team to support operations from an accounting perspective.Performing general ledger accounting and bank statement reconciliationPrepares and presents journal entries, financial statements, and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysisAssisting the accounting group to perform other related duties as assigned.Mentor and develop accounting staffQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience in business, accounting, or related field preferred.3+ years of proven and relevant experience with increasing responsibility within the real estate industry preferred.Working knowledge of regulatory standards (GAAP) preferred.Working knowledge of financial reporting and financial analysis.Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience with Yardi is preferred, experience with Skyline is a plusStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.Ability to understand and interpret property management agreements preferred.Ability to work with all levels of management and independently.Ability to review financials to analytically identify and resolve mistakes, and work through complex accounting treatments.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Business acumen skills and commitment to excellence and high standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
