Warehouse Operator II

The role, at a glance:
The Warehouse Operator II is responsible for unloading and receiving shipments, preparing outgoing shipments and coordinating with the Customer Service team to ensure that all shipping documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
How you'll contribute: Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pull materials; pack boxes; place orders in delivery area
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
Transact customer orders using both carrier and ERP systems
Provide quality control inspections, as necessary, within the workflow
Package and tape international shipments in multi-pack cartons for export
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons
Take an accurate inventory count at end of each day
Package product for shipping; ensure all necessary product cables and instructions are in box
Assemble cardboard cartons as needed for large, multipack shipments
Move prepared shipments from shipping cart to dock door as needed
Call and/or email forwarding companies to arrange pick-up
Consign shipments to forwarders and ensures the correct shipments are consigned to the forwarder by listening carefully and checking documents
You'll also support with:
Maintaining positive communication and rapport with co-workers
Ensuring shipping area is kept organized and neat
Keeping supervisor informed of issues on the shipping floor
Other duties as assigned
A successful candidate should have:
0 - 1 years of related experience
Ability to work Monday - Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM
Experience in packaging and shipping is preferred
Ability to adjust work pace in response to daily needs
Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal skills in English
Strong problem solving ability
Demonstrated ability to learn new software/applications
Computer Skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
General knowledge of domestic and international shipping (knowledge of UPS World Ship and Fed Ex Ship Manager systems is a plus)
Knowledge of ERP systems preferred
Forklift Certification required either upon hire or ability to obtain certification within the first three months of employment
Attendance is a critical function of this position
Work environment:
This is an onsite position based in Tigard, OR.
Warehouse and manufacturing environment
Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. periodically with assistance
Stand or sit for long periods
Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending
Use tools that require fine hand skills
Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts
Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas
