Pay starts at $17.50/hr and increases after 90 days to $18.25/hr. Full-time is a 42 hour work week and includes overtime at time and a half.

Complete the vehicle checklist, restock, and clean ambulances in preparation for the unit's next tour of dutyPerform daily facilities duties as assignedEnsure equipment inventory is available for medic units, i.e. backboards, straps, soft supplies, etc.Provide to the maintenance department any documents or noted maintenance needsForward any other shift notes to the duty supervisorPerform minor repair of equipment including preventative maintenance on equipment and batteriesClean and decontaminate equipmentComplete inventory audit for reorderAssist maintenance department staff as neededPerform monthly vehicle safety checklists and OSHA cleaning on all unitsOther jobs as assignedQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLDEGE REQUIREMENTS:
Responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with fellow associates, hospital and nursing home personnel, as well as the general publicAbility to manage resources and plan aheadMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have a valid State of Michigan chauffer's license and have a good driving recordMust have a high school diploma or GEDMust be interviewed by Life EMS designeeMust meet all Life EMS employment requirementsCOVID-19 Vaccination highly encouragedPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance visions, color visions, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The associates must also do the following:
Drive using wrist motions to manipulate steering wheel frequently and rotating neckLift and carry wheelchairs weighing 45 poundsPush, pull wheelchairs and lift during stair ascend/descend with 130 pound patientPull van's wheelchair elevation platformLift and transfer 130 pound patient from chair to wheelchair, buckle and unbuckle wheelchair to floor platformAbility to wear particulate respirator. Facial hair, except for a mustache to the corners of the mouth, is prohibited.
