The Service Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to build a profitable branch location and leads their team of service and field technicians providing excellent customer service, maintenance, and repair to our client's equipment. The Service Manager has a direct hand in hiring, developing, and training their team of technicians. They are accountable for the department's overall budget and profit and loss.

Essential Functions

Management & supervision of Service Department personnelCommunicate with customers to schedule and dispatch field service techniciansSupervise the opening and closing of work orders for control of each shop and field jobMaintain and monitor detailed records of time and performance of Service employeesMonitor and schedule preventative maintenance of rental equipmentOrder and maintain inventory of shop tools and suppliesRecruit, interview and hire qualified service department personnelAct as site safety supervisor in conjunction with Branch ManagerMonitor service technician training and schedule on and off-site training as requiredEnsure that all customer satisfaction needs are met in accordance with company policyStay current on product improvement programs from manufacturersReport shop goals, objectives and achievements to District Service ManagerTrack department profitability and technician efficiencyEnsure technicians operating according to safety policies and proceduresReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma2-year certificate from technical school or 5 years of related service management experience in heavy equipment industryPC proficiency required, particularly in MS Office applicationsExtensive Equipment (OEM product) and maintenance knowledgeValid Driver's LicenseStrong organizational skillsExcellent Customer Service skillsMilitary service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.
