POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Specialist develops efficient procurement solutions and supports senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies. They support and drive procurement and contracting activities by building and fostering vendor/supplier relationships and following the purchase order life cycle to ensure supply chain continuity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")Manages full purchase order life cycle according to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.Plays primary role in vendor selection including but not limited to researching, identifying, and recommending potential vendors to senior management. Alternatively, recommends termination of vendor relationships if necessary.Requests quotes, researches, compares, and negotiates prices, purchasing terms and conditions with vendors, and places orders pursuant to purchase order.Interfaces with accounts payable with invoices on associated materials purchase orders.Replenishes inventory pursuant to company min/max terms and demand requests.Coordinates with Legal for preparation of vendor contracts for approval by senior management.Monitors supplier performance and resolves issues and concerns.Acts as primary vendor contact to address quality of purchased items and resolves any supplier deficiencies.Manages timely deliveries and is responsible for the resolution of supply chain issues or discrepancies.Serves as liaison with internal project teams and maintains strong supplier relations.Analyzes industry and demand trends in order to support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.Prepares and maintains accurate inventory and procurement records and reports.Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Successfully passes background check and preemployment drug screening.Possesses a valid U.S. Driver's License.Daily, predictable attendance.On call availability required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

High school diploma or G.E.D. AND 35 years of relevant supply chain experience ORBachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred AND 23 years of relevant supply chain experienceCPM or APICS certification preferred.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and oral English.High proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.Ability to multitask and prioritize based on demand of requirements or workload.Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills.Possession of strong negotiation skills.Possession of excellent organization, consultative, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts and to prepare concise oral and written reports and presentations.Ability to work with limited direction in a fast-paced environment. strong work ethic.QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT

Time in position: Minimum 12 monthsCertification in APICS or CPMDemonstrated ability to prove a high aptitude in supplier management, contract negotiation, logistics or inventory management

The Procurement Specialist works indoors in an office setting, primarily sitting for extended periods of time at a desk station, keyboarding and using repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and or fingers. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus while reading and staring at computer monitor. The Procurement Specialist will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech. No adverse environmental conditions are expected. While in the office, the Procurement Specialist may be called upon to stand, kneel, push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, climb, and lift; therefore, Procurement Specialist should be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs with a team lift.

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
