WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORA successful Senior Maintenance and Contracts Specialist (SMCS) applicant:•Will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of building systems.•Will possess strong skills in contract management and oversight.•Will be proficient in troubleshooting complex systems like fire alarm panels & HVAC.•Will have excellent organizational and documentation skills.•Will work well independently and as part of a team.•Will have strong communication and collaboration abilities.•Will be capable of acting in a supervisory role when needed.•Will have advanced computer skills, including experience with

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm. Work outside of these hours may be required to help ensure facilities are maintained. Your day will start at the Mt. Jumbo Shop located on Douglas, but considerable time will be spent working at other facilities around the CBJ.
Typical Responsibilities
Oversee the execution of maintenance contracts, ensuring that all contractors meet their obligations in terms of quality, timeliness, and compliance with contract specifications.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to monitor contractor performance, using established criteria to evaluate adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Develop detailed inspection reports that document findings, highlight deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. These reports are shared with the Building Maintenance Supervisor and other relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with contractors to address performance issues, ensuring timely resolution of any discrepancies between contracted services and actual performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Six (6) years of extensive experience in construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, or machinery, including at least two (2) years at the full proficiency level in at least one (1) of the trades or crafts areas.
Substitution:
Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic II in the City and Borough of Juneau or the equivalent elsewhere.
Other:
Valid Alaska Driver's License at time of appointment and for continued employment.
Desired:Experience in contract management and vendor oversight is highly desirable.
