Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Benefits and Retirement Plan Manager to oversee the administration and management of multiple benefits and retirement plans, with a special focus on working with union employees. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in benefits administration, retirement plan management, and a strong understanding of union agreements and regulations. This role is crucial in ensuring that our employees receive comprehensive and competitive benefits packages while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan Management:
Oversee the administration of multiple benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.Union Collaboration:
Work closely with union representatives to manage and negotiate benefits and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with union contracts and agreements.Employee Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits and retirement plans, providing clear and accurate information and resolving any issues that arise.Compliance:
Ensure all benefits and retirement plans comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, and other applicable laws.Vendor Management:
Liaise with benefits providers and vendors to manage plan options, renewals, and implementations, ensuring optimal service and cost-effectiveness.Enrollment:
Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process, including the communication of plan changes, organizing informational sessions, and assisting employees with selections.Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on plan performance, participation rates, and financial metrics to senior management.Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the HR team to evaluate and design benefits and retirement strategies that align with the company's objectives and employee needs.Training and Education:
Develop and conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees about their benefits and retirement options and to promote utilization.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR) are a plus.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration and retirement plan management, with at least 2 years working with unionized employees.Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of employee benefits programs, retirement plans, and relevant laws and regulations.Skills:
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Interpersonal Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with union representatives and employees at all levels of the organization.Technology:
Proficient in HRIS systems, benefits administration software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
This role typically operates in an office setting with occasional travel required for meetings and training sessions. The Benefits and Retirement Plan Manager will need to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
