We're looking for an experienced Controller who will play a key role in steering our client's financial strategies and ensuring their financial systems run seamlessly. As the Controller, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, providing insights and managing critical financial operations that support innovative projects and mission-driven goals. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership:
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and create monthly and annual financial statements.Operations Excellence:
Oversee month-end close, payroll, benefits processes, and maintain up-to-date accounting policies and procedures.Systems Management:
Lead ERP systems and accounting integrations, specifically around AP, AR, and billing functions.Team Leadership:
Guide and support the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and development.Data-Driven Reporting:
Use PowerBI to prepare project management reports that track metrics and project performance.Audit Oversight:
Lead and support financial audits, including FAR overhead, 401k, and ESOP audits.Strategic Support:
Play a key role in ESOP capital management, contributing to long-term employee ownership and financial growth.Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required; CPA certification preferred.Experience:
Approximately 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, ideally a mix in both public accounting and the private sector, along with experience in managing others.Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and advanced PowerBI skills.Skills:Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.High attention to detail, with excellent organization and delegation skills.Leadership skills with a commitment to team development.
