Director of Quality Assurance
The Director of QA supports the retailers overall program objectives through the leadership of the QA team and implementation of key QA processes. The role manages relationships with retailer cross-functional teams, customers and manufacturers. They will also be expected to demonstrate a deep level of industry best practice, and leveraging that experience to influence strategic decisions, providing adjustments to current processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies that align with the retailer's objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership:•Lead through influence and collaboration. Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure that projects are aligned with Private Brand objectives•Develop deep understanding of Daymon and customer strategy and vision with this QA partnership•Direct a large team of QA/Food Techs that service the QA function corporately and for multiple retailer accounts. Provide technical support for internal quality lab and operations•Prioritize and assign all resources to enable timely delivery of high-quality processes and strategies within budget•Lead investigation teams and ensure proper close out and follow up.•Develop a high performing team and ensure training and learning of team members•Make decisions independently and notify management of action taken•Industry and Customer Knowledge:Industry Knowledge:•Maintain a deep industry and global working knowledge of basic QA and Food Science/Safety tools and methodologies•Highly skilled at frequent collection and organization of disparate pieces of information into a clear and concise business case; present internally and to customers•Author and review SOPs, policies to ensure compliance and adherence to regulations operations•Display understanding of the project's value proposition for the customer•Maintain and update local, state, and federal programsBusiness Objectives Management:•Responsible for coordination, implementation, and maintenance of QA program•Direct the design and implementation of site policies and procedures•Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities•Review complaints, concerns or questions relative to compliance issues•Develop plan of action and lead team to completion•Estimate testing efforts, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities•Support implementation of cost, quality, and service improvement initiatives•Develop comprehensive training plan to ensure QA standards are taught and implemented to team members and stakeholders•Review all documentation, including Reports and monitoring data•Authorize changes in procedures to help minimize product waste•Control and distribute work instructions, forms, and logs in all departments•Actively support escalated issues from both internal and external customers
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources
Indirect Reports- This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports
Travel and/or Driving Requirements
- Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job
Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the jobEducation Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree Master's of Science preferred
