Cloud Security Director

Responsibilities:Develop and coordinate the Cloud Security strategy, defining the transition to and adoption of secure cloud services, and effectively communicating requirements for technical and process improvements to project stakeholders.

Ensure the security of modern cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform, Google IaaS, PaaS (e.g., BigQuery), major SaaS services (e.g., Workday, Office 365), Azure, and similar platforms.

Lead and manage a team of experienced cloud security professionals, overseeing their performance and development.

Design and implement strategies and tactical plans to ensure a secure transition to the Cloud while maintaining acceptable information risk levels.

Develop and implement cloud-native security frameworks and defense-in-depth strategies based on business requirements, ensuring minimal risk and appropriate security controls.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of cloud, application development, infrastructure management, and information security, and articulate the business impact of IT and cloud security policies, standards, and frameworks.

Manage and operate external cloud security solutions (e.g., Prisma).

Recommend tactical and strategic initiatives to eliminate or mitigate risks.

Monitor and assess new and emerging threats to cloud computing environments.

Provide guidance and technical leadership in developing security standards and guidelines for cloud infrastructure, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, risk profile, and policy requirements.

Document and advise on security improvements that balance risk with business operations without diminishing efficiencies or innovation.

Collaborate with Legal to identify and assess the impact of current and potential legal and regulatory issues on cloud services.

Participate in Customer Assessment reviews of organizational security controls for data stored, processed, or transmitted in cloud environments.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Expert knowledge of cloud system architecture and key cloud security concepts.

Proven track record of hiring and managing cloud security staff.

Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, its products, and services.

Extensive experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud, and architecting security solutions for other cloud providers.

Expert knowledge of cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends, and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings and integrations.

Hands-on experience configuring cloud security services such as IAM, KMS, and CloudTrail, and Google Cloud security services with appropriate security certifications.

Experience with DevSecOps and Agile methodologies, third-party cloud security tools, and cloud-native application architectures and their associated security implications.

Ability to assess risks in line with information security objectives and institutional risk tolerance.

Strong conceptual, analytical, and evaluation skills.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.

Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

High level of motivation, confidence, and responsibility.

Excellent project management skills and the ability to organize and plan effectively to meet project goals.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.

Pay Details:

$70.00 to $120.00 per hour
