Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Sr Engineer - Cyber Security is to design, implement, and support the company's overall information security infrastructure.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.
All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Configures, implements, and troubleshoots a wide variety of cyber security devicesImplement and maintain cyber toolsMonitor cyber tools' healthMonitor and respond to output from cyber toolsTune tools for optimum performance and business focused monitoringConfigure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devicesCapacity planning for cyber devicesRespond to events/incidents with knowledge, efficiency, and professionalismCreate and participate in cyber security practice exercisesIdentify and define system security requirements for a heterogeneous computing environment (Microsoft, IBM, Linux, proprietary OS, Industrial Control Systems)Design cyber security architecture in accordance with IT architects and current and forward-looking network designCreate, develop, and maintain detailed cyber security design documentationPrepare, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and protocolsCollaborate with team members and business teams to troubleshoot systemConfigure and troubleshoot cyber security devicesSubmit and respond to tickets from an automated ticketing systemPrepare change management items and participate in the Change Approval Board (CAB) meetingsCreate and maintain metricsParticipate in incident response activitiesCreate various types of reports and present to a varied audienceStay current on malware, infiltration and investigative techniques, forensics, and the threat environmentMentor junior engineer in developing and enhancing job competency and skillsPerform job duties in a safe manner.Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
At least 21 years of age.Proof of authorization to work in the United StatesBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldMust be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.5 - 7 years of experience in cyber security or information technologyExperience in at least 5 of the following:System AdministrationNetwork AdministrationInstalling and implementing security appliancesCapacity planningNetwork architectureCyber forensicsData Loss PreventionFirewall administrationIDS/IPS installation, implementation and maintenanceVulnerability and security configuration scanningVulnerability and configuration exploit softwareAnti-virus an anti-malware hardware and softwareSIEM installation, implementation and maintenanceCyber incident responseSecure configuration managementThreat intelligenceMetrics development
Problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environmentAbility to manage deadlines and changing prioritiesMust be self-motivated and a team player collaborating with a team that spans the globeDemonstrates responsibility and accountabilityMust be able to communicate effectively with team members, management, senior management and consultants both verbally and in writingMust be able to create and document network and system diagramsMust be able to write understandable proceduresMust be able to respond to calls as needed (24/7)Must be able to design, install and implement cyber infrastructure solutions that integrate with the existing infrastructureAbility to demonstrate a calm demeanor when faced with chaotic circumstancesaKnowledge of networking concepts and principlesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.Physical Requirements
