Pay Range:

$23.30-$31.48/hr (DOE)

Position Summary:Falck is seeking a Scheduler to join our Alameda County 911 EMS operation. The Scheduler is responsible for recording hours of work, processing, coordinating schedules, and monitoring basic operations. This position has direct contact with all department managers, EMS employees, general managers, special event venues, and customers. The location for this position is flexible within Southern California.

Must be available to work partial weekends.

Potential for remote work once training is complete.

Responsibilities:

The Scheduler may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:• Responsible for designing schedules for the EMS employees assuring that all shifts are filled.• Coordinating vacation & unscheduled sick time for Ambulance operations.• This position will also help maintain an electronic employee database that tracks key payroll and schedule information about all employees.• Has the authority to schedule and approve overtime as necessary to meet appropriate staffing requirements to assure accuracy and makes corrections as needed.• Responsible for accuracy of schedule and works with employees to ensure accuracy of timecards.• Tracks and documents sick calls, and call-offs.• Follows guidelines set by the local Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to maintain the schedule.

Additional Duties:

The Scheduler may be assigned one or more additional duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:• Scheduler works closely with field employees, supervisors, and managers to coordinate the schedule and payroll effort.• Reports to the Division Manager of Planning and keeps the DM Planning informed as to scheduling status and overtime.• Perform other job related as assigned by the Division Manager of Planning.

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:• Experience conducting scheduling duties in an EMS or other system is preferred, but not required• Knowledge and ability to work in ESO is preferred, but not required• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers. Excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively across Department lines.• Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and understanding of database programs, and type 40 wpm (minimum).• Must have the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.• Highly dependable and ability to meet internal deadlines consistently.• Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.• Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in groups.• Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.• Minimum of one-year experience in office setting preferred.

Education Requirements:

The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
