Cost Controller - Ohio - 12-Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced Cost Control Specialist to support our client’s large scale capital project. This role will focus on analyzing data, managing project costs, and coordinating trade-off decisions to help the project remain within its financial limits.
Key Responsibilities:Collect, analyze, and track all project costs to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Evaluate cost trends and discrepancies, identifying areas for potential savings.Work closely with project stakeholders to prioritize spending by evaluating and coordinating trade-off decisions to manage the project within budget.Develop, propose, and present solutions to manage and mitigate cost-related issues, ensuring the project’s financial objectives are met.Communicate effectively with the project team, procurement, finance, and other departments to provide cost insights and support prioritization without imposing decisions.Implement cost reduction strategies based on best practices and previous experience with financially constrained projects. Ensure cost reduction efforts do not compromise project quality or safety.Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to project leadership, detailing budget status, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasts.Qualifications:
Minimum of 8-10 years in a cost control, finance, or procurement role within large-scale capital projects, ideally in the pharmaceutical or related regulated industries.Proven experience managing or analyzing finances for large-scale capital projects (typically $150M+), particularly those facing budget constraints or needing cost reduction efforts.Advanced proficiency in data analysis and financial tracking, with the ability to interpret large data sets and provide actionable insights.Demonstrated success in assessing trade-offs, prioritizing spending, and implementing cost-cutting initiatives in budget-constrained environments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration. Ability to present financial data clearly and advise without dictating decisions.Technical Skills & Certifications:
Proficiency in financial analysis software (SAP, Ariba), cost management tools, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis functions, etc.).Certifications (Preferred) : Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant certifications.If this role is of interest to you, please apply now!
